an escaped
finger explores the
clearing between the rib
and the bone, ignoring
the caterpillers and
twigs and 12 million
species of dust that
the unconscious knows
makes a clearing.
this reality, swooning like an
overdoes turns the
spongy brain to ice
cream at that point
where it ceases to be
ice cream. allowing
the crazed finger
to pluck the
tendon between the
rib and its
muscle, reminding the
body that it could
have been a tree with
leaves instead of fingers.
