tonight's show in waukesha marked the end of our 61 date fall tour. happily, we're home safely - the only casualty of war being the VanTH, which is in dire need of some new hoses, an oil change, and a good wash. thanks so much to all the wonderful people who came out to see us all over the country, especially those who were kind enough to let us sleep on their couches and floors. without you, touring would be a thousand times more difficult and stressful. we're excited to be at home for some rest, and we'll be working hard to get everything in line to have our new record ready for release in the new year.

so, we've got three great shows left to finish the year out. most notably, we've got our 5th birthday celebration at the Metro with some amazing bands - not to mention a dance party to follow at the smart bar! rumor has it, a member of the band will be guest DJing, so don't forget your dance shoes. we'll have some brand new limited edition sweatshirts with us at the show, and printable discount tickets will be available this week on our website. it's going to be a great night, and we'd really love it if you came out to celebrate with us!

fall back

well, as a group, we are pretty disheartened by the outcome of the recent presidential election. it's been really interesting traveling through texas during the last few days before the election and then also in its wake. and in a larger sense, it's been fascinating to tour the country this fall, registering voters and getting a sense of local opinon for the impending election and its candidates. it certainly gave us a sense of optimism, as it seemed like there was a more intense interest surrounding the election than the last time around. maybe in four years young voters will actually turn out en masse to garner some change. until then, i guess we'll have to wait and see just how bad things actually get.

ahem, in other news, we're really excited to get back to the midwest in a matter of mere days. the bill for our 5th birthday party at the metro is coming together, and we'd surely love to see everyone there. is it cold in chicago yet?

NEWS 10.30.04

A couple of new shows of interest to point out are dec. 5th in St. Louis with a great band called So Many Dynamos, and also our 5th birthday party going on at Metro on dec. 16th. we're in the process of putting together a really cool bill, so mark it down on your calendar - we'd love to see you there. please bring cake and balloons.

don't forget to vote on nov. 2nd!

finally, in an odd bit of news, it turns out that the rather kryptic message board post about TH gracing the pages of a major publication is, strangley enough, true. on page 96 in this month's issue of YM you will find the cover of penturbia, sandwiched between the likes of dave mathews, pink, and jay z in picture to an article explaining how to decorate your room with your 'cool' album covers. we here at THHQ are as baffled about this as anyone, and we can only hope we'll get at least a free subscription out of the deal... and maybe some fashion advice.

hey all! as you can see by the front page, chris was all patched up last week and is now laid up in his home mending his bones. unfortunately, we can't really risk injury to his leg again, so we have to begrudgingly cancel all of the dates until the halloween show in wheaton. we're so sorry to the people we're missing and the venues who had us booked. we promise we'll be back soon.

make sure to catch the show is the rainbow and the gunshy who are finishing the rest of dates. they both put on an amazing show, and we can't wait to meet back up with them for the week in november.

enjoy the fall weather, and make sure to drop chris a line to wish him fast healing. take care everyone!

from such great heights
we have some unfortunate news to report today. last night in des moines, singer chris hubble managed to break his ankle while attempting a death-defying leap during the canoe song. while he did defy death, his ankle was a bit less lucky. so, after a late night with the wonderful people at the mercy hospital ER, we piled in the van and headed for home. chris is going to see dr. bones tomorrow, and then we'll have a clearer picture of how the west coast shows will be affected. hopefully, we'll still be able to make most of the dates.

to all of those in attendance at the vaudeville mews last night, we apologize for cutting the set short a bit. but, rest easy knowing that you were privy to the most bizarre ending to any TH show to date. also, note that we've gone ahead and unfortunately cancelled the shows in Omaha and Lincoln. we're so sorry that we're missing them, but we've got to do what we've got to do. please, still go out and support the gunshy! he'd love to see your smiling faces. stay tuned for further details...

the past two weekends of shows have been radical for sure. it was great to see all of our friends in iowa city again at a sweaty gabe's dance party - a show highlighted by josh unknowingly tearing a huge hole in the crotch of his pants. lincoln was again nothing short of lovely, and we had a great time at the vaudeville mews in des moines with our friends fan at boy, where we witnessed various acrobatic feats and frenetic dance moves.
